Franchise Law
A unique area of practice is Franchise Law. Since 1985, Allan & Summary has been helping people buy franchises, sell franchises, and get out of franchises that have worked out poorly. On the other side it has drawn the Franchise Disclosure Documents (UFOC or FDD) and contracts necessary to become a franchise. This field includes real estate leases and transactions, labor agreements, trademarks, copyrights, non compete agreements, trade secrets, labor and employment law, and sometimes patents. There is probably not a major franchisor with whom the firm at one time or another has worked for or against. Domino's, CarX, Meineke, Hardee's, IHOP, Medicine Shoppe, Pasta House to name a few.
